The Background | Does Penis Traction Work? | Which Device Is Best?

If you're curious about penis enlargement, you'll no doubt have heard about the somewhat weird and wonderful-sounding penis traction devices or penis enlargement devices which are increasingly becoming available on the open market.  Illustrated on the right, these devices are pieces of equipment which are designed to encourage growth of the penis through the exertion of long periods of (gentle) stress on the penis.

Penis Traction Devices - Medically Proven Method of Penis Enlargement

Penis traction borrows an idea which from the medical community's perspective, has been in development for over 30 years. The basic principle is that when stress is applied to a specific body part over a sustained period of time, that region will gradually grow new cells, including tissue cells, and in doing so, will expand in size and volume.

In the case of the penis, the application of traction gently stretching it causes the cells which make up the Corpora Cavernosa and the Corpus Spongiosum within the penis to swell, break down and slowly multiply to fill the space created by the stretching. In doing so, the penis slowing grows in both length and girth.  Gains in solid penile tissue are added to by the increased blood volume which the now larger blood vessels are able to accommodate.

Alarming as this process sounds, it's actually used every day in hospitals throughout the world in a variety medical disciplines, from orthopaedics, to burns, to cosmetic enhancement, including male enhancement. In fact, penis traction as we know it was first used in hospitals in Europe from the late 1980's onwards.

Using prototypes of the devices on sale today, physicians used traction to treat patients with penile curvature, correction of Peyronie's disease and as a post-surgical treatment in order to to avoid scar retraction. The success of these early devices led clinicians to development them for use in elective treatments for individuals who had nothing wrong with their penis, other than finding it to be too small.

Many companies marketing penis traction devices refer to similar processes being used by aboriginal tribes in Africa and Asia, but it is becoming increasingly possible able to draw on more contemporary examples of body part growth via stress.  The most prominent example available today is that of the Brava breast enhancement program. The University of Texas has developed a breast growth program as an alternative to surgery which is now being used by physicians worldwide.  Women wear a specially designed bra for at least 12 hours each day over a minimum of 16 weeks.  The bra exerts a suction force, which causes the breast tissue to stretch, break down, multiply and grow in exactly the same way as described above.

My point here is not that this technique will have you growing breast tissue on your willy (duh!), but that the Brava system has gained the respect of both medical and user communities in the short space of time it's been available (since 2001).

By contrast, although well-known to specialist clinicians, penis enlargement through traction has struggled to achieve the same popular recognition, no doubt because it is hampered by its vague association with the porn industry, those pesky spam e-mails for penis enlargement pills, and because the desire for male enhancement in general, and penis enlargement in particular, is treated by most people as something of a joke.  It's unfair, because clinically, penis traction is proving itself to be as successful in the field of male enhancement as the Brava system is for female enhancement, and at the end of the day, a guy's desire to make the best of himself is just as valid as a woman's.

Yes, But Does Penis Traction Actually Work?

Short answer - yes!

The long answer is that interestingly enough, penis traction is the only penis enlargement technique which has any hard clinical evidence to back it up.  It's for this reason that those doctors who actually take penis enlargement seriously are increasingly sitting up and taking note of traction in preference to the other non-surgical techniques available.  While phalloplasty (enlargement through surgery) is the exclusive preserve of doctors, all sorts of non-medical people are cashing in on the other enlargement techniques, which include  patches, pills and exercise.

Since none of these other techniques have as yet been able to back up their claims with proper scientific evidence, the doctors remain highly skeptical; they tend to be highly suspicious of anything that can't be proved through science - especially when it isn't developed by one of their own.

Andro-Penis® / SizeGenetics Extender

Penis traction as a technique offers the double re-assurance provided by having been developed from within the medical community and garnering a respectable clinical pedigree provable through research with users - both versions of the penis enlargement devices featured in this article cite clinical papers in which a traction device was used - successfully.

It's important to remember that penis traction doesn't work overnight, nor does it work if the device sits in its box. You need to put in hours every day for months, and be prepared to endure a little discomfort in the first week or so. Do this and it will work.

Does It Matter Which Penis Traction Device I Use?

Despite all appearances to the contrary, there are in fact only two devices currently being sold on the internet. Despite all the mud the different companies sling at each other, the fact is that they're selling either the JES Extender by Danamedic (designed and developed by Jorn Ege Siana, M.D), or the Andro-Penis® by AndroMedical (Dr. Eduardo A. Gómez de Diego). They both provide traction or stretch, they both create stress, they both cause cellular breakdown and re-construction...and they can prove it. Both devices have gone through rigorous clinical trials, and both have the backing of the medical community.  In the end, your choice will come down to which "package" you want, pricing and payment options, and possibly, if you're looking to avoid heavy customs taxes, which country the product ships from.
